This body of work entitled “Earth Stories” was inspired by daily walks and hikes.  While in nature I am alert for a magic moment or gift to present itself.  Sitting outdoors, feeling the breeze, hearing the rustle of the leaves, watching the light and shadow continuously shifting makes me want to capture the essence of my experiences in my work.   I interpret elements such as air, water, light and wind, which make marks upon the earth, by using accidental marks such as drips, and splashes along with strong gestures to create pathways through my compositions.  Human interdependence and connection to the natural world is the underlying subject of my work.

Mother Nature is comforting, but sends us clear messages with the increasing extreme weather events that we are witnessing. My work puts focus on the natural world in the hope that we will find our way back to living with respect and harmony with nature and each other.
