In October of 2018 I had the luxury of time to sit quietly by a small lake and observe the rhythms and colors of nature.  The life that happened in a very inconsequential body of water drew me in.   Simple natural phenomenon of refracting light on water as winds shifted, fish jumped, clouds shifting overhead worked its magic on my spirit.

I found myself captivated with the desire to capture this experience in paint.  After several months of heads down painting I stepped back and found that my work did reflect a quiet peaceful spirit that took hold of me while I sat by the water and the willow tree.

At a time when our natural environment is being assaulted on so many fronts, my hope at this quiet body of work will offer viewers the opportunity to pause and reflect on the importance of nature in our lives.
